HF Drivers
B&C Speakers has been a leader in compression driver technology for the last 30 years, and is now a market leader in the development of neodymium drivers for the pro audio market. We are constantly advancing the science of high frequency driver development, and adding new products to the range. The use of Neodymium magnets in our high frequency drivers has not only allowed us to dramatically reduce the size and weight, but has also allowed us to improve performance and overall value.
Our reliability and performance is second to none. We continue to work with various materials to further improve the performance of our HF devices. Through our modeling programs we are able to analyze every aspect of the driver, and study the impact of key components on each design.
We use three different diaphragm materials. Mylar, Pure Titanium and Polyimide. Each material has its own unique benefits and qualities. The Mylar allows for an exceptionally smooth transient response. The pure Titanium provides superb power handling and excellent reliability in the field. The Polyimide achieves very high power handling and sensitivity levels, and creates a smooth top end response. Other features in our compression drivers are copper shorting rings, and flat edge wound aluminum voice coil wire. In addition, we have developed our first 4” diaphragm HF driver, the DE1000. This is truly our flagship neodymium compression driver.
The DCX50 and DCM50 represent a new level of high quality, high performance, full range and midrange drive units. Our patent pending designs utilize a neodymium magnet assembly and a 50mm voice coil.
The platform for each design is a 5” paper cone which offers superior damping properties. The DCX50 is
the full range version and has an operating range from 400 Hz–16 kHz. The DCM50 is a true midrange device. The sound quality of the DCX series is really natural, and offers exceptional clarity in the vocal range.
The DE35 is appropriate for a wide variety of PA applications, and is an excellent choice for use as an HF unit in bass guitar cabinets or combos.
